Travelling from Marston Road around the roundabouts on Headley Way and on to Marsh Road, I was nearly knocked off my bike by a car exiting to Marsh Road, that chose to overtake me on my left-hand side.
Whilst shouting to alert the driver, I swerved to my right to avoid the collision.
There was no accident, but it was close.
The Highway Code 2022 appears to be largely ignored by motorists who disregard the need for courtesy and care towards slower road users.
Highway Code 2022 page 186 says: “You should give priority to cyclists on the roundabout.
"They will be travelling more slowly than motorised traffic.

"Give them plenty of room and do not attempt to overtake them within their lane.
"Allow them to move across your path as they travel around the roundabout.”
Roundabouts are amongst the most dangerous threats to cyclists and I have felt threatened on many occasions.
Dr Ling Felce was killed at The Plain roundabout.
As people do not read, know or remember their Highway Code after passing their test, it should be a requirement to post signs at roundabouts,to remind all users to give priority to cyclists, and not to overtake them.
