PUPILS from Brackley Junior School had a behind-the-scenes preview of the British Touring Car Championships at Silverstone at the weekend, thanks to Greatworth-based VX Racing.
Around 20 children were invited into the team's pit garage by VX staff who explained the different roles in a touring car team.
VX driver Tom Chilton answered questions - mainly about how many times he had crashed and how fast he was going at the time.
Kieran Murphy, 10, who sat in a Vauxall Astra Sport Hatch racing car with Chilton, said: "It's been really exciting.
Deputy head teacher Diannah Dean added: "I think the children really appreciated what a team effort motorsport really is, rather than just being all about the driver."
