GRANTS of up to £5,000 are available for youth projects in Northamptonshire.
Anyone wanting to set up facilities for ten- to 19-year-olds in their area can apply for a slice of at least £200,000 worth of funding from Northamptonshire County Council.
The council wants applicants to suggest ways of helping the local community and young people. Ideas will need to be supported by details of a suitable venue, worthwhile activities, the availability of volunteers, and which young people would be interested.
Joan Kirkbride, the council's executive member for children and young people, said: "I would urge anyone with realistic ideas for new youth projects or services in their community to apply for a grant.
"The ideas obviously need the support of young people and the local community to ensure there is a suitable venue and willing volunteers around to support the venture."
The maximum grant is £5,000. Applications to Northamptonshire County Council's voluntary sector support unit must be in by 5pm on October 13. For details call 01604 236789.
