THE chance to spend a day with one of the UK's most promising racing drivers is up for grabs in the Banbury Cake's latest fabulous motorsport competition.
First prize in the competition is two VIP passes for the British Touring Car Championship meeting at Silverstone on October 15, and the opportunity to meet up-and-coming ace Will Bratt, who competes in the Formula Renault UK series.
The Renault championship is part of the BTCC programme, and there will be two races for Will on the day in his Scorpio Motorsport single-seater.
Competition winners will be invited into Scorpio's pit area to chat with the team, sit in the car, and enjoy hospitality provided by Will's sponsors, Apotex Pharmaceuticals.
The winners will also be able to watch all the day's races, including three exciting British Touring Car heats and other supporting events Will, now 18 and who lives in Adderbury, started in the sport, as did many other top racing drivers, in go-karts and progressed to cars.
At 16, he was a British National Champion, winning the BRSCC T-Car Championship in 2004, with 16 poles, 14 wins, and 6 new lap records from 18 starts.
His ambition for this season was to perform well in the Formula Renault Championships before moving on to even greater challenges - and he is certainly making a name for himself in the series.
After lhis outing at Brands Hatch two weeks ago, Will is now eighth in the 2006 title race and wants to finish in the top six. So far this season he has had one race win - at Oulton Park - and was awarded the "driver of the day'" trophy at the Knockhill round.
The Renault UK series is a recognised stepping stone for future Formula One drivers, with Kimi Raikkonnen and Antonio Pizzonia both graduating from the championship.
Race day at Silverstone promises to be an all-action end of season thriller with the British Touring Car Championship still to be decided.
Reigning champion Matt Neal leads the points table, but Jason Plato and Colin Turkington are both still within striking distance.
The recent rounds at Brands Hatch saw Neal crash out of race three, allowing his rivals to close the points gap - leaving it all to play for at Silverstone.
To be in with a chance of winning the VIP passes, answer the following question. How old was Will when he won the T-Car Championship?
