FOUR fundraisers are planning a 1,400-mile charity rally in car that cost just £77.
Damian Kelly, his wife, Charlotte, and friends Tim Higgins and Philip Rushforth, will compete in the Staples2Naples Banger Rally in a Volvo 740 estate that Mr Kelly bought on the internet auction site eBay.
The group, which will start the event from in Calais today, hopes to raise money for the Alzheimers Society.
Mr Kelly said: "We are treating this as a fun event with a serious side.
"We are entering as Kellys Heroes - and the car and all of us will be dressed to fit the part.
"We also want to raise as much money as possible for the Alzheimers Society, which is a cause that means a lot to me."
After Calais, the team will navigate its way to the finish in Naples four days later.
