A POLISH man was left with severe facial injuries after he was beaten up in Banbury.
Concerned women stopped the 25-year-old victim near Banbury Cross and called the ambulance for him.
The man was wearing a grey hooded top and jeans when he was found by the Good Samaritans.
He had walked through Banbury town centre with his face covered in blood after the attack, in the early hours of Saturday. Details of the assault were only released by police yesterday.
Dc Jason Simpson said: "This was a serious assault and he was taken to the Horton General hospital and treated for severe injuries to his face.
"He has no details of his attackers and I'm urging anyone who may have witnessed the assault to come forward."
Anyone with information can contact Dc Simpson at Banbury Police Station on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
