Residents interested in Banbury’s heritage can take advantage of two free history days to find out more.
Experts from Oxfordshire County Council will be on hand to shed light on people’s own historical artefacts and documents or show townspeople how to find out more about the county.
A host of information about Banbury’s past will also be on display.
The event takes place at the Mill Arts Centre in Spiceball Park Road on Friday, May 21 and Saturday, May 22.
Mark Priddey, the council’s archives manager, said: “The county council holds a wealth of information through its various cultural service departments relating to Oxfordshire’s history.
“These ‘History Days’ are designed to encourage people in the Banbury area to find out about the past through the range of services that we offer.
“There will be several local history experts on hand to offer advice and guidance to visitors.”
Local historian Brian Little plans to lead a walk around Banbury to highlight the town’s history from 2pm on the Saturday.
Tickets for the walk can be bought in advance from Mr Little on 01295 264972 and from the Mill Arts Centre on the day.
