RACING driver Darren Turner agreed to a photoshoot with a women’s magazine — only to find out afterwards he would be posing naked.
Every year, Cosmopolitan magazine invite celebrities to support the Everyman campaign by stripping off.
Women are then encouraged to vote for their favourite body with all proceeds going to raise awareness of testicular and prostate cancer.
Mr Turner, who lives near Banbury and drives an Aston Martin for Prodrive, is urging women across Oxfordshire to pick up the telephone and vote for him.
He said: “I got hood-winked — the girl who does my public relations said ‘There is a Cosmopolitan shoot, are you interested?’ “I said yes and the next thing it was organised and I was told I would be naked.
“I was very nervous about the day, but the women who organised it and the photographer were very professional. It was a good experience, but I am not saying I would do it again.”
By getting involved in the Everyman campaign, Mr Turner said he had also picked up information and advice about testicular and prostate cancer.
The July edition of the magazine is out this week — but 35-year-old Mr Turner will be spared any blushes as he is currently racing at Le Mans, in France.
