MOTORISTS are being warned they face 18 months of disruption as work starts on Banbury's new sports centre.
Work on a temporary access road to Spiceball Park Sports Centre is due to start next week.
Cones and contra flows will be put in place in Cherwell Street for the next year-and-a-half during construction.
Paul Marston-Weston, Cherwell District Council's sports centres modernisation manager, said: "The council, Moss construction and Parkwood Community Leisure apologise for the inconvenience and inevitable increase in traffic congestion and advise planning more time for your journey or seeking an alternative route where possible."
Detailed traffic management arrangements can be viewed or downloaded from the council's web site at www.cherwell.gov.uk
