MOTOR sports specialist Prodrive in Banbury is sponsoring a performance of the classic children's story Tom's Midnight Garden.

Banbury Cross Players are presenting a dramatisation of Philippa Pearce's book, on Monday, November 27, at The Mill, Banbury, with all proceeds going to the Oxford children's hospital.

The performance starts at 7pm, and tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for children under 16. The play is not suitable for younger children.

For ticket information, contact Michelle England on 01295 754175 or e-mail mengland@prodrive.com for a booking form.

The play is the latest contribution from Prodrive towards fundraising for the hospital.

In July, it held a two-day open day which raised £50,000 for the charity, and the firm aims to raise a total of £200,000.

Visitors on July 29 and 30 saw where the company designs and builds the Subaru World Rally Cars (WRC) and the Aston Martin DBR9 sports cars.

All the workshops were opened so that visitors could see how the WRC engines, gearboxes and electrical systems are made, and how the Aston Martin DBR9 and Subaru World Rally Cars are finally assembled.

Alison Barnes, a spokesman for the children's hospital, said: "It was a tremendous effort by Prodrive to raise £50,000 earlier this year, and they are backing this production."

There are only 150 tickets available for the performance.
