NORTH Leigh could not find the equaliser their efforts deserved as they lost 1-0 at Chesham United in Pitching In Southern League Premier South.

Both sides had chances in an entertaining first half, with Andy Gunn clearing a fifth-minute effort off the line.

Chesham took the lead just after the hour mark through Karl Oliyide, before Jordan Thomas struck the post as North Leigh put everything into levelling the scores.

There was to be no late equaliser, though, as the Buckinghamshire outfit extended their unbeaten home run to 23 league games.

Elsewhere, Didcot Town climbed to second in Division 1 Central with a thumping 6-0 win at Highworth Town.

Adam Learoyd, Sam Barder and Ollie Nadin put the Railwaymen 3-0 up at the break, before Connor Barrett’s penalty and Ben Putland made it five in the second half.

Nadin grabbed his second with ten minutes remaining to complete the rout.

Kidlington are right behind Didcot in third place after beating Cirencester Town 2-0 at Yarnton Road.
