OLLI Caldwell climbed 16 places to score his maiden Formula 2 points in Austria.
The Oxford-based driver, who is part of Enstone-based Alpine’s academy, fought from the back of the grid to finish sixth in the Feature Race at the Red Bull Ring.
Overnight rain left the track damp on Sunday morning, but Caldwell started on the slick tyres from 22nd while his rivals chose the wet-weather compound.
The gamble paid off as the 20-year-old climbed to 16th on the opening lap, before rising to sixth after a safety car.
Caldwell had to pick his battles as the race went on and he crossed the line 11th, but ended sixth due to time penalties for those ahead of him.
It earned the Campos Racing driver eight points.
