Plymouth Argyle are now only behind United on goal difference after beating Portsmouth 1-0 at Home Park, Ryan Hardie scoring a second-half winner.

It moved the Pilgrims above Sunderland, who fall to sixth, while Sheffield Wednesday missed the chance to climb into the play-off places as they drew 1-1 at home to Accrington Stanley.
Callum Paterson put the Owls ahead after 66 minutes, only for former U’s man Marvin Johnson to score an own goal in the closing stages.
Meanwhile, Wycombe strengthened their promotion push in dramatic circumstances as Jason McCarthy struck deep in stoppage-time to secure a 1-0 home win over Fleetwood Town.

Rotherham United are now seven points clear of third-placed MK Dons after beating visitors Lincoln City 2-1.
Ben Wiles and Chiedozie Ogbene gave the Millers a 2-0 lead after 13 minutes, before Tom Hopper’s late consolation set up a tense finish.
Second-placed Wigan Athletic won 2-0 at Crewe Alexandra thanks to goals from Josh Magennis and Will Keane.
Meanwhile, Shrewsbury Town thrashed Morecambe 5-0 and Charlton Athletic edged out Gillingham 1-0.
