RICKY Holmes's chances of facing former side Oxford United this weekend look doubtful.
The 31-year-old had targeted the fixture between two sides just above the Sky Bet League One relegation zone as his return from injury after joining Gillingham on deadline day in January.

But when asked by a supporter on Twitter about his chances of playing at Priestfield, the club's official account replied: "Ricky is unlikely to be risked for Saturday. We were hoping he would be ready but the fixture may come too soon for him."
Holmes spent the first half of the campaign on loan with the U's from Sheffield United.

But persistent back problems limited him to 19 appearances, prompting head coach Karl Robinson to reluctantly cut the season-long deal short.
