WANTAGE’s Vale TKD were on the podium at the London Open for the third year in a row.
Having finished second in 2017, the defending champions in the overall competition finished third out of 40 schools at Guildford Spectrum.
Lilly Bunting (14-17 years) and Tash Turner (under 14) led the way for their 20-strong squad, both collecting two gold medals for patterns and sparring.
Vale instructor Carl Davis continued from his European title success with gold in the 3rd and 4th degree black belt pattern division.
He was also second in the under 78kg category for sparring and power (board breaking).
Red belt Aisha Macey also claimed multiple medals – gold in junior patterns and silver in lightweight female sparring
Vic Davis, adult red belt patterns, and Benny Stoten, under 10 blue belt sparring, completed the club’s gold rush.
Rosie Bunting, under 14, and Arthur McClintock, 14-17, were second in their respective green belt patterns and sparring competitions.
Florian Stoermer clinched silver in the veteran over 40 sparring, and bronze in patterns.
Vale’s final double medallist was Maisie Bevan, who picked up a pair of bronzes.
The haul was completed by third-place finishes for Max Rhodes, Lilly Emptage, Harrison Moore, Fabian Stoermer, Max McClintock and Henry McClintock.
