CITY of Oxford claimed their best result at the Head of the River Race since 1993.
The first men’s eight finished 54th out of 311 crews at the annual event, held from Mortlake to Putney on the Tideway in London.
The club’s second string were 168th, while their women’s eight were 18th out of 23.
More than 350 crews from across the country will compete at the Abingdon Spring Head of the River Rowing Festival on Sunday.
The racing begins at 9.30am.
