Brightwell FC took over at the top of Division 1 with a 3-1 win at King & Queen Wheatley.

Sam Childs hit a hat-trick in Saxton Pirates’ 8-4 victory at Red Lion Islip.

Dan Maughan, Ryan Johnson, Danny McArdle, Darren Smee and Dean Costar made up their tally, while new signing Michael Trafford smashed a hat-trick for Islip with Chris Philpott also on target.

Kamil Falkiewicz was another hat-trick hero as Zubry Oxford posted a 4-2 home victory over Didcot Casuals, with Tomasz Samoluk also on target.

Division 1 high-fliers Railway Wheatley overcame a pre-match drama to thrash third division hosts Green Tree Wallingford 10-2 in the Devenney Cup first round.

Ryan Whitney’s car, in which some of his teammates were also travelling, was involved in a crash on the way.

The Railway players escaped serious injury, but missed the game, leaving their side with a bare 11.

Despite this Railway steamed to victory with Daniel Smith hitting a hat-trick.

Seb Warner scored twice, with Aaron Laman, Joel Chadbone, Dan McNiff, a Shaun Liptrot penalty and Sam Graham also on target, while Steve Gunn scored both Tree goals.
