Jelroy Constant hit a hat-trick as AFC Hinksey hammered Division 1 opponents OUP Wanderers 7-0 in the Critchleys Upper Thames Valley League's Devenney Cup semi-finals, writes Tim Siret.
Lance Williams opened the scoring for Hinksey from the spot after he had been bought down, and further goals from skipper Triston Lawrence, Constant and Alex Fassoranti made it 4-0 at half-time.
Fassoranti netted his second, before Constant, thanks to assists from Williams and Olly Lynch, completed his hat-trick.
Hinksey are certain to face a stiffer test against bitter rivals Kings Arms Wheatley in the final at Abingdon Town on Sunday, April 22.
Some devastating finishing from hat-trick hero Paul Moran gave Division 2 side Saxton Pirates a surprisingly easy 3-0 victory over The Tree, from Division 3, in the Ridgeway Cup semi-final.
Moran gave Pirates the half-time lead from Marc Gass’s pass.
Ross Tabor fought off several challenges to set up the second for Moran, who completed his hat-trick following a great run by Josh Gilsenan.
In the final at Abingdon United on Easter Sunday, April 8, Pirates will play Black Swan, with whom they share their ground.
Hot-shot Ryan Curtin smashed five goals as Kidlington Royals swept away Oxford Yellows 6-1 in the Hedley Toms/Michael Brown Memorial Trophy semi-final.
James Organ hit the other Royal goal, while John McMahon netted for Yellows.
In the final, Royals will play AFC Jericho or AFC Hinksey, who do battle this Sunday.
Cholsey United reclaimed top spot in Division 2 with a 4-1 home win against in-form Red Lion Islip.
James Purdue hit a brace for United, with Alejandro Rodriguez and Clive Perryman making sure of the win. Adam Wells replied for Islip.
Didcot Casuals’ outside promotion hopes were helped by an 8-2 win at Sutton Wanderers, with top-scorer Steve Hedges adding four more to his tally.
Jamie Clark grabbed a brace, with Kevin Dawson and Ashley Wilcox completing the win.
Chris Stringer bagged a double for Wanderers.
Rutherford Lab refound their early-season form by winning 4-2 at Checkendon Exiles.
Jon Watts hit a Rutherford brace, with top-scorer John Hawkins and Dave Templeman also netting.
Exiles hit back with a Tristan Allen strike and an own goal.
Freeland Yeoman kept their promotion hopes bubbling in Division 3A with a 5-1 home win over Abba Athletic.
Scott Greening, Steve Carvey, Ben Sadler, Ethan Simlett and Paul Salter did the damage, with Wayne Harwood replying.
Abingdon Exiles’s wretched run continued with a 4-2 defeat at home to Northway Boys & Girls.
Ant Simpson’s double, plus strikes from Robert Hatt and Michael Yearwood gave Northway the edge in between Exiles’ strikes by Graham Bettles and Adam Godwin.
