Kings Arms Wheatley completed the double in stunning fashion by thrashing AFC Hinksey 10-1 to add the Autotype UTV League Division 1 title to their Devenney Cup success, writes TIM SIRET.
Jay Hill led the goal spree for Kings Arms with a four-timer.
But that only came after the Wheatley outfit suffered an early shock when Wayne Desmond fired Hinksey into a third-minute lead.
Top scorer Neil Lockhart hit a brace, with supersub Darren Smith, Aftab Hafiz, Benji Cuff and goalkeeper Jeff Simmonds, who converted from the spot after Cuff was tripped, completing the rout.
Barton United, who could have pipped Kings Arms to the title if they had won and their rivals had lost, let slip a three-goal lead as they were held to a 4-4 draw by Oxford Yellows.
Colin Ryan, Liam O’Calla-ghan, Ryan Curtin and Jelroy Constant scored for the home side, with Josh Dutton-Black (2), Rocky Whiting and Daniel Warne replying.
Hot-shot Lee Spencer’s late equaliser saw Donnington crowned Division 3A champions following a 1-1 draw at AFC Jericho in midweek.
But they made hard work of it as they were only able to muster 11 players, and then lost Darren Poyser early on with a serious knee injury.
Donnington then fell behind when Ryan Coles steered a cross past his keeper, but Spencer’s 61st strike of the season brought them the title.
In Division 3B, Punchbowl Pirates won 2-1 at home to Brightwell.
Jon Cummings bagged both Pirates’ goals, with Andy Gibbons replying.
Stuart Perry hit a hat-trick for Abingdon Knights in a 4-4 draw at home to Bowyer Arms.
Adam Smith was also on target for Knights, but Bowyer hit back through Craig Davies, James Ivey, Lewis Wilson and Simon Green.
