Northway were given a major fright before winning 4-3 at home to Yellow Eagles in Division 1 of the Marstons Oxford Sunday League, writes GEOFF BOWER.

Two goals up within 15 minutes through Gareth Williams and James Gray, Northway thought they had the game won.

But two defensive lapses allowed Eagles to equalise by the break through Rob Morgan and Seb Cowley.

Despite plenty of second-half pressure, Northway could not find that final pass and another defensive lapse allowed Eagles to take the lead, Morgan adding his second breakaway goal.

However, two goals in the last five minutes snatched the points back for Northway.

Sub Martin Alder looped in an equaliser and Gareth Williams heading home in a packed six-yard box.

Leaders AFC Hinksey were involved in another high-scoring game, but kept their 100 per cent record intact with a 6-4 victory at AFC Boudika.

David Jennings grabbed a hat-trick for Hinksey, Jerome McCalmon a brace and brother Julian the other.

For Boudika, Calvin Gale grabbed a brace, with Hugo Scott and Ollie Zaja notching the others.

In the Premier Division, Chalgrove secured another three points with a fine 4-1 win over a lacklustre visitors Mansfield Road.

James Quainton, Rob Cantwell, Simon Godfrey and Nick Skiller, on his first game back after injury, ensured a comfortable victory for the home side.
