North Leigh signalled they will be strong promotion contenders when they trounced Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West leaders Poole Town 4-0 thanks to a John Mills hat-trick.
Poole, with six wins and a draw, led the table by six points, but they had no answer to the hosts, who outplayed them in every department.
North Leigh took the lead in the 19th minute, when Mills redeemed earlier misses when he scored from the penalty spot after being tripped by defender Will Spetch as he burst through on goal.
Two minutes later, Mills made it 2-0 with a chip from a Michael Hopkins pass. The hosts kept the pressure in the second half and made it 3-0 in the 79th minute when Mills completed his hat-trick from the spot, following a foul on Jon Else by Spetch, who was sent off for a second yellow card.
Lewis Coyle completed the rout in the 89th minute. firing in from another cross from the dangerous Hopkins.
