Tevita Vaikona urged Oxford Harlequins to maintain their progress after collecting their first win of the National 3 South West season.
Quins’ director of rugby Vaikona was happy with their battling 29-28 victory over Malvern, but knows they face a tougher test at third-placed Newton Abbot tomorrow.
“I am looking for another improvement in performance,” said Vaikona. “The results will come.”
“Beating Malvern was a relief for the guys. They have been on the end of some really terrible scorelines.
“I think we are coming into shape slowly, but surely.
“We have got a very young squad and I have never panicked.”
Prop Toby Sanders and scrum half Alban Edwards could make their debuts afer being named in Quins’ squad.
Sanders has joined Quins from Nottingham, while Edwards is an Oxford Brookes student.
Tight-five forward Sean Brook, an academy product, will hope to retain his place after a promising debut.
Chinnor have named an unchanged squad for their trip to Redruth in National 2 South.
The fourth-ranked Cornishmen sit two places and two points ahead of Chinnor, who could end the day in third.
RAF lock Josh McNally makes his Henley Hawks debut in the leaders’ home clash with Bournemouth.
McNally partners James Winterbottom in the boiler room, while prop Alex Penny and second row Dave Clements return from injury to the bench.
Centre James Lamb, prop Jamie Burke and utility forward Joe Rowles return to the Witney squad for their trip to South West 1 East high-fliers Salisbury.
Prop Matt Calley is unavailable, while wing Luke Manning drops to the seconds.
