Chris Flowers was the Barton United hero as his last-minute penalty save secured a 2-1 victory over Six Bells Kidlington in the first round of the President's Cup.

With Barton leading 2-1 and a place in the second round looming, Bells' Luke Holden was brought down, but his spot-kick was brilliantly saved by Flowers to put Barton through.

Barton took the lead ten minutes before the break through Tyrone Brackett, but Bells hit back almost immediately through Warren Jones.

Carl Bloomfield restored Barton's lead 15 minutes into the second half, and they held on after Flower's last-gasp heroics.

Northway cruised through with a 4-0 win over a youthful Rose Hill.

Gareth Williams led the way with a hat-trick, with James Gray notching their other goal.

Riverside crushed Saxon Warriors 8-1.

Ben Moses grabbed a four- timer for the second week in succession, with Jamie DeBanks, Jermaine Jones, Martin Jones and Stephen Walsh scoring the others.

Carl Howard replied for Saxon.

The shock of the round saw Nelson come unstuck against Star Wanderers. Star got off to a flying start when Cecil Rodney nipped in to lob home and when Dale Kardos converted left-footed from 12 yards from a Tom Mason cross a quarter of an hour later to double their advantage, Star were in command. Further Star goals came from Tom Mason and Rodney again, with Nelson's replies coming from Tristan Lawrence, Michaes Herbert and Graham Hambridge.

In the Jack Sadler Cup, Woodchip Wanderers were the top scorers of the day as they brushed aside Railway Wheatley Res 8-2.

Ben Davis gave them an early lead, then Matt Townsend added a second.

Railway pulled one back through Danny Power, but Davis notched his second to restore the two-goal lead.

Alex Vaughan added a fourth, then Ben Green made it 5-1.

Davis completed his hat-trick with a 20-yard lob, and although Shaun Liptrott reduced the deficit again, Jordan Fisher and Darren Aston added further goals to complete the rout.

Their goals came from Wayne Prescott (2), Daniel Leggett and Andrew Walker.

Andrew Turner grabbed Saints' solitary reply.
