Southern League Errea Cup
Taunton Tn 1, Oxford C 0
Oxford City's losing streak continued as they went down to the only goal at Taunton in the second round of the Southern League's Errea Cup.
In a poor game that lacked the passion of a cup tie, there was little to choose between the sides, but Taunton had the better chances.
City's best first-half effort came when Mark Jones's free-kick created a hectic scramble in the home area.
Taunton went ahead on 19 minutes, Matt Prosser heading in a Mark Harding cross.
Keeper Lee Farrow produced a good save to deny Prosser a second.
After the break, Jones fired a free-kick just over the bar for City, but after that, little was seen of their attack.
And it could have been worse, because Lee Morgan wasted a good Taunton chance by firing over after a misplaced pass from Andy Marriott.
Oxford C:Farrow, Burnley, Rendall, Avery, Craker (A Williams 75), Marriott, R Williams, Merritt, Stewart, Spence (Alleyne 72), Jones (Keen 67).
* Oxford City will name their new manager early next week following the resignation of Andy Lyne, who has taken on the role of director of football.
They were originally going to make the announcement before Saturday's game against Hillingdon, but assistant Justin Merritt remains in temporary charge for that game.
