David Bye held his nerve to give Section 3 outfit Nelson B a narrow 3-2 win over Shelley, of Section 2.

There was nothing between the sides going into the final match, but Bye recorded a good break of 4,120 in his score of 6,610 to give his side a surprise win.

Keith Sherrell had beat Liz Bye to put the home side 1-0 up, but Nelson won the next two games on the last ball.

Mick Stratford slotted into the 100 hole to win his match, before young Luke Stratford found the 200 hole to win his contest.

Graham Moon scored a fine 9,160 to make it 2-2, before Bye won the day.

In the Premier Section, the top four teams played each other.

Dennis Atkins (10,080), Mark Trafford (4,640) and Jenny Abbott (5,110) helped Didcot Con Club move level on points with Dolphin A after beating them 3-2.

Paul Caistor and Jimmy Robson won for the Dolphin.

Nelson A and Corner House are both just one point back after they met, with the House winning 3-2.

Kevin Godfrey 11,600 (break 11,070) and Ray Sturgess 12,200 won for the Nelson, but Alan Oliver (10,640), Mick Jones (5,600) and Bob Allsworth (8,760) gave Corner House victory.

In Section 1, Masons B lost 5-0 to their A side, with Dave Rose (6,450), Mick Murphy (5,780), Martin Wood (5,270) and Alan Lowe all winning.

Democrats B won 4-1 at home to Gladiators A, while Democrats A triumphed by the same score, away to Gladiators B.
