North Leigh threw away a great chance of progressing in the FA Carlsberg Trophy as they let slip a 3-1 lead to lose 4-3 in their first qualifying round replay at Sholing Sports.
After being forced to wait a week due to floodlight problems following the 2-2 draw Eynsham Park, North Leigh made up for lost time.
John Mills shot them into a ninth-minute lead and John Else made it 2-0 six minutes later following a corner.
Sholing reduced the arrears when a long-range shot crashed against the bar and went in off the unfortuntate Stuart Hole, but Lewis Coyle restored North Leigh’s two-goal advantage before the interval.
The visitors continued to look for more goals after the break, but were caught twice in five minutes by Marvin McLean, and then Pete Castle earned Sholing a trip to Chippenham in the next round by snatching an 89th-minute winner from a corner North Leigh: Warrell, Hole (Deabill 89), Franklin, Caton, Hopkins, Turk, Clarke, Alexis (Organ 70), Coyle, Else (Westlake 80), Mills.
