GOSFORD All Blacks are targeting victory in the Dubai Sevens as they look to build on last season’s Oxfordshire Shield success.
The club have entered the tournament’s social section, which runs alongside the IRB international series from November 28 to December 1.
Gosford captain Tim Ellis said: “A number of our players entered the tournament last year as part of the highly successful St Edward’s Martyrs team that have since gone on to numerous tournament victories on this year’s domestic circuit.
“The encouragement of these St Edward’s old boys, along with a desire to test the club and players on further challenges following our Shield final success last season, are the primary reasons for entering the tournament this year, something we believe we can win.
“Long term we’re looking to establish our own sevens team next summer and the Dubai trip is merely the start of that.”
