BICESTER produced a superb display to power past higher league opponents Beaconsfield 38-17 in the EDF Energy Senior Vase second round.

Flanker Anthony Nightingale and Fijian winger Esawa Rakacikaci both bagged try doubles to send their visitors from Southern Counties North packing.

Beaconsfield began with a bang and scored a try through scrum half John Bondoc straight from the kick-off.

Hooker Steve Barnes crossed for Bicester's first score and James Holton's conversion put them ahead.

Nightingale scored Bicester's next two tries, with Holton converting the second.

Rakacikaci's first was improved by captain Steve Risbridger, while Holton was on target again after full back Tom Edgar scored out wide.

Beaconsfield hit back after the break with a try from Dave Hurley, converted by David Cox.

Rakacikaci's spectacular second try made it 38-12 Barnes, Risbridger and replacement Dan Kimber expertly stopped a pushover effort, before a try from Beaconsfield's Chris Eyres completed the scoring.

The only downside for Bicester saw fly half Adam Spencer go off with a broken rib.

Three tries in each half gave Witney a comfortable 36-0 success at home to Cooper Avon Tyres.

Will Worrall and James Lamb made some great ground before releasing the lively Henry Lamb, who ran in their first score.

The biggest cheer of the afternoon came when prop Andy Gosling ripped the ball out of a maul and set off on a storming run downfield.

He drew the cover and passed inside to rampaging No 8 Owen Fowler. Two more slick passes led to full back Tom Harper crossing for a try.

Witney's third try came from a superb intrusion by Harper.

He was felled by a great tackle, but the ball was recycled to Dan Purkiss who sped over for his second try.

The interval came with Witney 17-0 up and in the driving seat.

In the second half James Lamb cruised in for try No 4.

The last two tries came from Worrall, with Henry Lamb adding his second and third conversions.

Wallingford's unbeaten start to the season came to an end when they lost 37-26 at Trowbridge, who play in Southern Counties South.

The visitors never recovered from a disastrous start which saw them 20-0 down after 17 minutes to four unconverted tries.

Wallingford's revival began with a try under the posts by Derek Viljoen, converted by Ollie Henderson.

Trowbridge's fifth unconverted try made it 25-7, but they then had two men sent to the sin-bin.

Playing against 13 men, Wallingford responded with a try by winger Elliott Simmons, but Trowbridge replied in kind.

Wallingford looked once more down and out at 30-12, but excellent tries from full back Henry Venners and loose-head prop Kris Blaszko, both converted by Henderson, brought them right back into the game Deep in injury time, Trowbridge sealed it with their first converted try.
