Oxford City triumphed 8-7 in a dramatic penalty shoot-out at Aldershot Town after their FA Youth Cup third qualifying round tie finished 2-2 after extra time.
Mark Bell was City's hero with the winning penalty to book a trip to Yeovil in the first round on Tuesday, November 7.
City were never behind in the tie, and they took the lead when Ben Hepburn latched onto a high through ball and lobbed the advancing keeper.
Aldershot equalised in the second half when City's defence failed to clear a long throw-in and the ball was headed home at the far post.
Hepburn had a great chance to snatch victory for City, but was denied by the keeper in a one-on-one situation as the game ended 1-1 at the end of normal time.
City continued to push forward and regained the lead in extra time when Steve Davis capped a dazzling run with a cool finish.
With time running out, Hepburn had his second one-on-one with the Aldershot keeper, but again came off second best.
And with more than five minutes of added time played, Aldershot equalised with the last kick of the game.
But City kept their heads up and showed their mettle by coming out on top in the penalty shoot-out.
