Magdalen College School have made a stunning opening to the new season with two tournament successes.
At the Caldicott School tournament the MCS boys won the under 13 title, while their under 10A and under 10B teams came second and third behind Aldro School (Surrey).
Tom Maxwell (Headington) and Alasdair Stores (Dorchester-on-Thames) were on fine form for the under 13s, winning all four of their games, as did Chalgrove's William Massam for the under 10s.
The county was also well represented in the tournament by Oxford High School, St Andrew's, Headington, and Headington Junior School.
And it was an even better performance at the Aldro Schools Tournament. The Magdalen under 13s won 11 of their 12 games to retain the trophy they had won in 2005, while the under 11s won both the major and minor competitions.
For the under 11s, Clifford Carr (Pyrton), Jack Possee (Long Hanborough) and Jonathan Carr (Brill) scored a perfect 3/3.
