The weather last weekend took its toll with the majority of matches on our rivers being cancelled.
Most of these will be re-arranged, hopefully when we will have some better weather.
Those clubs fishing stillwaters fared better.
Yarnton & District were at Boddington Reservoir where there was such a poor turn-out that they tagged onto Stanton Harcourt's match to help make up the numbers.
The match was pegged on the boathouse side at the far end of the lake and at the weigh-in, it was Richard Strange (RS Baits) who came in first with 202.3.0 of carp caught on the method feeder with coloured meat on the hook.
In second place came Nick Collier with 104.15.8, while third with 74.4.0 was Roy Cox.
The result of the combined match saw Strange on top, followed by Scott Miller (RS Baits) with 123.12.0 of carp taken on the method and pellet, and Gordon Brown with 117.8.0.
Seven members of Oxford Bus AC travelled over to Milton Pools to fish their latest match.
Fish were topping all over the place and with the wind dropping, things looked good.
Stuart Yates was the clear winner from peg 14 with a mixed net of carp, tench and goldfish worth 33.8.0.
Another nice mixed net from Alan Bond, who had carp and skimmers for 21.1.0, earned him second place, followed by Terry Yates, who caught 12.6.0 of carp, tench and skimmers.
Kidlington's H Clarke Challenge Cup was fished by ten members on the Oxford Canal at Grovelands, and although there were a few boats coming through, the venue fished quite well.
Using the pole and alternating between worm and the punch, Alan Steele caught roach and perch for a top weight of 10.11.0.
Dave Britnell had 8.0.0 of roach on the punch for second place, and Henry Clarke finished third with a net of perch going 6.15.8. Henry fished the pole with worm on the hook, feeding the chop.
Points after 9 matches: H Clarke 63, T Lester 59, A Middleton 57, J Bean 45.
It was a wise move by North Oxford AS to fish their match on the canal at Walton Well Road, where nine anglers turned out to find the water very dirty with a bit of tow.
John Stimpson fed a little groundbait and then fished the pole with red maggot to land a tench, plus roach, for a winning 10.3.0.
With a mixed net of roach and perch weighing 7.1.8, Morris Winstone took second, feeding chop and using maggot on the hook.
In third place with 6.9.0 was Roger Brown, who had a decent skimmer on the punch and then caught roach and perch on chopped worm and maggot.
The Abingdon Town AC Open was going to be fished at Rye Farm, but because of the state of the river it was moved to Culham Cut.
Steve Wheatley led the field of 13 home with 8.5.0, comprising a tench and some roach who liked his double caster bait.
Andy Silvey had 7.7.0 of roach on maggot for second place, followed by Charlie Brant and John Percival, both with 6.11.0.
They caught similar fish, tench and roach, but Percy could have walked the match if he hadn't lost three tench.
Masons travelled over to the Thames at Benson to fish their Teams of Three, and when the 19 anglers arrived the river didn't look too bad, with fish topping.
However, halfway through the match, the weir gates were opened, which made life difficult.
Alan Smith was the clear winner with 3.12.0 of roach taken on the pole and maggot.
Siting with a little slack in front of him was John Talbot, who caught about 50 small roach on maggot for a second-placed 1.13.0, followed by Phil Cross with 1.11.0 of roach.
