Captain Darren Elliott is back from a two-match ban to give Oxford City Stars a much-needed lift as they visit leaders Streatham Redskins in the English National League South Division tomorrow.
Stars suffered one of the worst results in their history last week as they produced a lacklustre display to crash to a 7-5 defeat at home to Lee Valley Lions, who had not won for two years.
Elliott missed that defeat and the previous week's 4-3 victory over Milton Keynes Thunder through suspension following his sending off against Romford Spitfires.
His return is a timely boost as Streatham head the table with six wins out of six.
Head coach Darryl Morvan said: "Last week's performance was unacceptable, a fact that was communicated to the team this week in practice.
"To their credit, the motivation to make amends for the Lee Valley game was evident in all the players present at training, and the work rate reflected that.
"Everyone knows that Streatham, who were a tough team to beat in the initial stages of the season, are growing stronger and more confident with each win, and are unbeaten thus far.
"Added to that we are missing a number of starting players due to non-availability or injury, and this will not make our task any easier."
Sam Broughton, one of the few players who emerged with any credit from the Lee Valley debacle, can expect to get more ice time, and Joe Oliver is recalled from the under 19's.
Morvan added: "We have seen in previous fixtures he has the ability to play well at this level.
"Although it will be a tough fixture - understrength and playing a strong opponent at their rink - I still feel if we can regain our passion and energy levels, we can remain competitive and with the potential to win any game we play."
