BANBURY’S Michael Meadows extended his lead in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Knockhill – despite failing to add to his tally of wins.

The 24-year-old Redline Racing driver finished second to Ben Barker in the first race at the Scottish track.

He then had to settle for sixth place in race two after being tagged by Sam Torduff at the first corner and spun to the tail of the pack, as Barker went on to complete a double.

But with Meadows’s major title rivals having worse results, he strengthened his grip at the top of the standings.

  • CHIPPING Norton’s Fergus Walkinshaw delivered an impressive recovery charge from the back of the Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup grid to finish seventh in the last of three races at Knockhill.

It saw the 21-year-old Oxford Brookes University student finish on a high note after posting an 11th place and a retirement in the two other races.

Carl Breeze notched a double at the meeting with Nathan Freke also enjoying a victory.
