Oxford City athlete Hannah England had to settle for sixth spot in the women’s 1,500m at the Diamond League meeting in Zurich last night.
The 25-year-old was shuffled back through the pack during the race, before being hampered by a faller just after the bell for the final lap.
She stayed on at one pace. but never threatened the front-runners, finishing in 4mins 7.99secs with Ethiopia’s Adeba Aregawi first home in 4.05.29.
Usain Bolt won the 200m in 19.66secs, while fellow Jamaican Yohan Blake took the 100m in 9.76.
British high jumper Robbie Grabarz secured $40,000 for the Diamond League title in his event after finishing second to Ivan Ukhov.
