All three Oxfordshire sides in Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West are in the promotion and relegation mix with two games left.

It is make or break for Thame Town and Shipton-under-Wychwood tomorrow as the wrong results could see them both relegated, whileAston Rowant are chasing the title.

Thame, who are 31 points adrift of safety, host Gerrards Cross knowing they will probably have to win their final two matches to have any chance of staying up.

Sam Lachlan and Will Sutcliffe are away, so Chris Jeffcock and Jesol Rathod come in.

Thame captain Mike Higgs said: “We will just keep going. It is not mathematically impossible that we will survive.

“There is still a chance, especially if things go our way in the league above.”

Rain ended any hopes Thame had of beating Harefield last week.

Higgs said: “It is the story of our season, being unlucky like that.

“But we have just got to go out there and win. We can’t affect anything else.”

Joe Barrett and Johnny Gurney replace Ian Lewis and Tim Senior as Shipton visit Farnham Royal.

Shipton trail the Buckinghamshire side by 18 points, but victory could take them out of the drop zone with just one week to go.

Ben Mills comes in for the absent Josh Smith as Aston Rowant visit Falkland.

Rowant lie six points behind leaders Slough, despite last week’s rain-affected eight-wicket defeat at Gerrards Cross.

Captain Wesley Morrick declared on 174-8 at Gerrards Cross to try and force a win.

He said: “We had to gamble last week. If it had paid off, we would have been laughing.

“We still have a good chance of winning the league. It has been tight all the way through.

“If we can get the basics right and get a bit of luck, we should be OK.”

TOMORROW’S SQUADS

Aston Rowant (v Falkland, away): Morgan, Watling, Mills, Ferraby, Matthews, Muttitt, Penhale, Morrick (capt), Cooper, Leaney, Carlton.

Shipton-under-Wychwood (v Farnham Royal, away): Bates, Oliver, Hole (capt), Perera, Wood, Brain, Hunt, J Barrett, Gurney, Seacole, Miller.

Thame Town (v Gerrards Cross, home): Higgs (capt), Neilson, Rathod, P Patel, Parmar, Jivrajani, Barnett, S Patel, Jeffcock, Desai, Rooney.

THAME Town and Shipton-under-Wychwood could both finish in the bottom two, but only one go down.

It is a long shot for the pair and all depends on Oxford staying up in Division 1.

Should Potters Bar and Bishops Stortford be relegated from the top league, they will both go into Division 2 East.

As a result, only one team would be relegated from Division 2 West, but a lot can happen before that.
