Oxfordshire lost to old rivals Berkshire 8-7 in their opening Inter-County Championship Division 1C fixture at Radley College.
The women took five of their six events, with Amanda King and Emma Cramond winning their singles. King and Alison Ross were unbeaten in doubles.
Oxon's men won one of their six, Dave Soanes and Dave Buckingham beating the second pair.
At 6-6 at the start of the mixed, Oxon lost the opening two and the match, before Chris Raw and Cramond pulled one back.
Raw had earlier lost a tight singles 25-23, 21-19, a result which became more crucial as the day progressed.
On adjacent courts in Division 5D, Oxon 3rd walloped Cornwall 2nd 14-1.
Playing all events open to them, three players -Jonathan Campbell, Kathryn Schutterlin and Amber Wing - gained four wins each.
Meanwhile, Oxon's Over 55s team lost 12-0 to Essex at Southend.
The annual Oxfordshire Open Championships at Radley College this weekend includes a record 59 entries in the men's singles.
Witney Leys picked up two 6-3 wins in Mixed Division 2 of the Oxford and District League.
In Men's Division 3, Oxford University's James Li and Deen Quwailid led their team to a 5-4 win over Leys B.
