Graham Scott's Division 2 round-up

YET another wet weekend means nine of the ten clubs Division 2 do not know where they will be playing next season.

Only Sandford St Martin, who have already been relegated, can be sure of their status.

On Saturday all five matches in the division – including the top-of-the-table clash between Oxford 2nd and leaders Twyford – started but failed to finish.

Twenty of the 80 matches in the division this summer have now been abandoned.

Oxford had reached 148-4 from 46 overs when the game was called off. James Smith had made 51 and Ian Crosby 31, while Twyford's left-arm spinner Bilal Afzal had figures of 3-30.

Elsewhere, Challow & Childrey were in a spot of bother on 73-4 from 24.4 overs at home to Abingdon Vale when rain stopped play.

Nigel Hume was back in the pavilion after hitting 38.

Long Marston will feel they missed the chance to climb out of the bottom two after their match was abandoned at rock bottom Sandford St Martin, who have already been relegated.

Neil Cox had hit 33 and James Beesley taken 4-38 as Sandford limped to 122-7 from 38.4 overs before the weather intervened.

Tiddington had restricted Aston Rowant 2nd to 52-3 from 15 overs, and Oxford Downs 2nd were in trouble on 85-5 from 32 against Wolverton Town, when both matches were called off.

All ten teams in the division receive six points.
