Division 3

CROPREDY wasted little time despatching Dinton 2nd to secure a win that took them back to the top of the division.

Ed Somerton’s outstanding 15-over spell, which produced figures of 8-30, reduced Dinton to 68 all out.

Simon Kempster (3-24) held up Cropredy briefly, but they still only needed 12 overs to reach 71-5.

Bledlow Village dropped to second after being held to a draw at Bicester & North Oxford, who came close to pulling off a win.

Dan Murphy made 54 in Bicester’s 179 all out, with most of the wickets being shared by Mark King (6-52) and Adam Mould (3-46).

Rain reduced Bledlow’s reply to 38 overs, from which they managed 149-8. James Shirley was 64 not out at the close, while Richard Simpson finished with figures of 4-25 and Steve Conway with 3-28.

Kingston Bagpuize will be wishing their match with Bledlow Ridge had been washed out, as they only picked up three points from the play that was possible.

Damian Wiskin took 4-52, while Jack Brooks hit 36 in Ridge’s 151-8, made between the showers from 40 overs.

Mark Dakin then had Bagpuize reeling on 55-7 from 26.4 overs when rain prevented any further action.

Witney Mills in ninth therefore narrowed the gap slightly on Kingston in eighth even though their crunch relegation clash with Chearsley was abandoned.

Mills made 111-5 from 40.2 overs before the storms rolled in.
