Forum A took a narrow lead in Division 1 of the Oxford & District League after beating St James A 8-2.

Karl Bushell led the way for Forum by taking all three of his sets, while Andy Misseldine saved St James's blushes with two wins.

He then teamed up with Roger Abbott to try and salvage a point, but Fraser Harris and Bushell won the doubles as well, 13-11 in the fifth.

Vikings A improved their position by sharing the points in 5-5 draws with Forum B and Rutherford.

Against Forum B, Jeremy Flint starred with his two wins keeping Vikings in the match.

But he was denied a maximum as Peter Dasher went the distance to claim victory.

Gareth Hayward impressed again, this time beating Andrew Flint.

Vikings went on to share the points with Rutherford, for whom Neil Hurford posted a maximum.

In Division 2, Begbroke A stormed to the top with 9-1 victories over Gladiators and Vikings C.

Janet Brown posted maximums in both matches.

Gladiators' problems continued when they visited Vikings B, losing 7-3 with Eamonn Deeley reeling off a treble.

Paul Borrowdale came within a whisker of joining Deeley on three wins, but Gladiators' Kevin Giles edged him out 13-11 in the fifth.

Mike Aistrop's maximum wasn't enough to save Vikings C from a 6-4 defeat against Forum E.

Terry Morris, like last season, is once again beginning to dominate Division 3.

His maximum for Witney B helped them to a 6-4 win over Bicester B.

He reeled off another hat-trick of wins as a substitute for Witney A in their 7-3 victory over Forum F.

Bicester B had more luck against Haddenham B with a Nick Lacey maximum helping them to a 7-3 win.
