OXFORDSHIRE’S Sarah Thomas goes for a bronze medal today as Britain’s women’s hockey team take on New Zealand at 3.30.
The 29-year-old forward, from Henley, saw her hopes of gold ended by a 2-1 defeat to Argentina in Wednesday’s semi-final.
And now she and her teammates must bounce back from three successive losses if they are to claim bronze.
New Zealand, too, suffered their own semi-final heartache after losing to the Netherlands on a shoot-out.
