Ben Higgins bagged a brace as North Berks League Division 2 side Harwell International sent Division 1 outfit Marcham crashing out of the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup second round with a shock 4-2 victory, writes Andy Wells.
It was the third Saturday in a row that Marcham, who are struggling in the league, have gone out of a cup competition.
Harwell took the lead on 12 minutes, Nick Townsend firing home after the Marcham keeper denied Higgins.
Minutes later, Harwell doubled their lead when Higgins netted his first, before Tom Baptie made it 3-0.
After the break, a Luke Westall brace got Marcham right back in the game, only for Higgins to crush their revival with Harwell's third.
Goalkeeper Chris Gifford saved two penalties as Division 4 side Hagbourne United pulled off the shock of the North Berks Cup with a 4-2 penalty shoot-out victory against winless Division 1 side East Hendred.
The sides had been locked at 0-0 after 120 minutes of action.
Challow United also upset the odds as they beat Division 1 side Didcot Casuals 3-1, Kevin Pryde scoring a double.
Alexi Oram got their other.
Goals from Paul Churchouse, Ben Parry and Nick Thomson were in vain as Steventon lost 4-3 against Didcot Town Res.
Botley United are through following a 2-1 win at Hanney United.
Strikes from Ben Taylor and Dave Humphreys cancelled out Mike Davison's goal for Hanney.
Division 4 side Uffington United knocked out Division 2 basement boys Long Wittenham with a 3-1 success.
Will Smith, Jason Smith and Matthew Cramp eased Uffington into a 3-0 lead and although Andy Burton pulled a goal back it was too late.
Benson Lions squeezed through after a 6-5 penalty shoot-out victory against neighbours Crowmarsh Gifford.
The game had ended at 1-1, Robert Gray scoring for Benson with Peter McLaughlin finding the net for Crowmarsh.
In the League Cup, Steve Belcher took his season's goal total to 13, smashing a hat-trick as Harwell Village Res crushed Kennington Res 6-3.
Kevin Cox, Andy Paton and Luke Morley got their others while Oliver Stone, Ben Cripps and Liam Buck scored for Kennington.
Andrew Tawn fired a hat-trick for Uffington Res as they handed out a 6-0 drubbing to Hagbourne Res.
Darren Scrivens, Dave Roberts and Darren Moreton were their other marksmen.
