Oxford City bowed out of this year's competition at the second hurdle after a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Winchester City in Hampshire on Saturday.
In a game made difficult by a strong wind, it was the visitors who started the stronger, with their neat approach play penning back the home side.
Winchester's Mark Gamble drove powerfully over, before a well-placed free-kick from City's Mark Jones' was left needing the final touch from a colleague.
Midway through the first half, it was City who had the best chance of taking the lead through Anthony Alleyne after Winchester defender Mark Zawadski made an almighty hash in attempting to clear.
However, Alleyne could only find the side-netting, with the goal gaping.
Winchester had a couple of near misses, but nothing on target as the first-half ended goalless.
Much was expected of the visitors in the second period, but it was not to be as on 48 minutes Winchester hit the winner.
Jamie Musselwhite got the better of Adam Durrant to lob a wind-assisted effort over Lee Farrow, who had replaced the injured Carl Wilkins in goal.
The nearest City came to getting an equaliser came when Alleyne's header rebounded off the keeper.
After that, City failed to create any worthwhile chances as they went out with a whimper.
