LONDON Welsh will play pre-season friendlies against Bath and the Scarlets as the club build towards their first season in the Aviva Premiership.
The Exiles face Bath at the Recreation Ground on Saturday, August 11 (2.15 kick-off) in what will be the first meeting between the two clubs since the 1992-93 season, when Bath won 37-7.
Welsh then travel to Llanelli’s Parc y Scarlets ground on Saturday, August 25 for a 2pm kick-off.
This will be the first meeting between London Welsh and the Scarlets.
“We’re looking forward to new experiences,” said head coach Lyn Jones. “London Welsh hasn’t been to Llanelli for a very long time.
“These games are an opportunity for all sides to air players and get them fit for the start of the season.”
Meanwhile, Welsh yesterday signed hooker Gareth Evans, from Plymouth Albion.
The 30-year-old will combine his job in the Royal Marines with playing rugby for London Welsh.
