A magnificent break of 83 from Grant Conquest helped Witney A to a 3-3 draw Oxford & District League Premier Division leaders Riley A.

Gary Cowlin knocked in breaks of 38 and 31 against Gavin Wright as Riley nosed into a 2-0 lead, before a break of 58 saw Justin Buckingham claw one back for Witney against Tony Hicks.

However, Hicks fought back in the next to put Riley 3-1 up.

Conquest came to Witney's rescue, though, with a 2-0 victory against Ron Reddy - with his 83 break coming in the second frame.

Fieldside A moved up to fourth with a 5-1 success at Thame A.

Captain Paul Robinson got Fieldside off to a superb start with victory over his opposite number Paul Evans.

Mark Syrett then shared frames with Karl Walker to secure Thame's solitary point with victory against Karl Walker, before Mick Bennett completed victory against Martin Cone.

Woodstock A kept up the pressure on Division 1 leaders Riley C with a 4-2 win against Witney B.

Stuart Reeve shared frames with Witney's Simon Barker, before Woodstock's Justin Page accounted for Lee Stevens.

Although Stephen Hedges made it 3-2 against Lee Hedges, the Woodstock man wrapped up victory in the final.

New Club continued their revival with a 4-2 win against Cherwell A.

Ian Gee saw off Ray Benwell, while Justin Shepherd's victory against Steve Benwell saw New Club cruise into an unassailable 4-0 lead, before Andy Benwell restored some pride by beating Alan Mander.

In a rearranged match, New Club drew with Witney C, with the highlight being a 53 break by Paul Chester.

Witney D have taken over the leadership in Division 2 following a 3-3 draw at home to Abingdon Con B.

Julian Marks beat Lynn Dick 65-24 in the opening frame to put Witney ahead, but Dick responded to win the second61-41.

Stuart Fenwick then beat Clive Burnett 62-38, 52-22 to give Abingdon a 3-1 lead.

But Pete Baskerville was unable to build on this and Phil Smith took the remaining frames 51-27, 44-21 to ensure that Witney remain unbeaten this season.

Riley D move into third place following a 4-2 win against former leaders County B, who slip to second.
