The staff at Oxford's Radcliffe Infirmary have been praised by Chelsea for their handling of injured goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Cech has been moved to a hospital closer to his home after making good progress this week.
The 24-year-old had surgery after fracturing his skull in a collision with Reading's Stephen Hunt during Chelsea's 1-0 win at the Madejski Stadium last Saturday.
The Czech, who faces a lengthy lay-off as he recovers, left the Radcliffe on Thursday.
He is now able to walk around on his own, and doctors agreed to move him to a hospital nearer to his Surrey home.
The club's statement said: "Everyone at Chelsea FC, his wife Martina and his family would like to pay tribute to the surgeons and staff at the Radcliffe and Royal Berkshire hospitals for the first-class care they have provided over the last six days."
