Radley Ladies’ Tara Kafke and Carolyn Plateau both failed to get past the heats at the Aviva Olympic Trials in Birmingham last night.
Kafke was fifth in the first heat of the 400m in 55.32secs. The race was won by Olympic champion, Christine Ohuruogu, in 52.14.
Carolyn Plateau came seventh in her heat of the 800m in 2.10.9. It was won by Jemma Simpson (2.08.32.
“It was not very good,” said Kafke. “My legs went at 150 metres and it was a shame I did not have more at the end, but that is the way it goes. It was a great experience to run in the next lane to the Olympic champion”.
Plateau said: “It was not great, it was a bit of a messy race, very bunched, so that I had to run very wide and didn’t have it in my legs at the end”.
Hatti Archer will competes in the 3000m tomorrow at 5.30pm and Lawrence Clarke is due to be in the 110m hurdles final an hour later.
