Oxford Saints kept up their unbeaten run in BAFACL Division 2 with an 8-0 win at Bournemouth Bobcats.
Toby Durrant put Saints ahead when he charged down a Bobcats’ punt at the goalline before putting over a kick for a 2-0 lead.
Oxford’s attack struggled to put any flowing moves together, though they got it right in the second quarter when Martin Fitzpatrick’s interception found Ali Galbraith who fed tight end James Walter in acres of space and he bulldozed into the corner, which was converted for an 8-0 advantage.
Saints’ running backs Chris Ellis, Harry Carr, Stephen Bentley and Michael Oluwole found Bobcats hard to break down, so had to rely on their defence to deny the hosts.
A succession of big sacks from Ken Snider, Lee Hutton and Dean Bryan saw them end Bobcats’ unbeaten run.
On Sunday, Oxford host Bournemouth in the rev-erse fixture.
