Reigning champion Aidan Collins will be the firm favourite to win the third round of the Pozzani GNC British Flat Track Championship at Oxford Stadium tonight (7pm).

Former Workington Tigers speedway rider Collins won the corresponding event at Cowley in May 2011, and has also won the opening two rounds of the 2012 series.

His main opposition will come from Staffordshire’s Tom Woolley, the Lincolnshire pair of Tim Neave and Peter Boast, and Italian Vittorio Marzotto.

Australian Kevin Doolan will also make a rare appearance in the series. Doolan is a professional speedway rider with the Ipswich Witches.

With 12 riders per race, Flat Track racing provides plenty of entertainment, especially when the top riders start off the back grid and have to work their way to the front. The Flat Track bikes are specifically modified motocross machines.

There are also a host of side attractions, such as the powerful Thunderbikes, Arrows Junior bikes, plus three speedway demonstration races, which will feature former Oxford Cheetah Jamie Courtney in action against three competitors.

Admission prices are £10 for adults and £8 for concessions (OAPs & students), while accompanied children (under 16) will be admitted free.
