Hat-tricks from Tristan Lawrence and 17-year-old Tommy Heyday saw Nelson to a resounding 12-1 victory over Highfield to extend their lead at the top of the Premier Division.
With Cold Arbour's game at Riverside being postponed, Nelson took full advantage.
Captain Liam O'Callaghan added a brace, while Mark James netted with a fine solo effort.
Craig Hambridge, Johnny McMahon and a 40-yard screamer from veteran Chris Fontaine completed the rout.
Mansfield Road returned to winning ways with a 3-0 win against Rose Hill, with Mike Harvey and Dave Kay among their scorers.
A goal each from Daniel Leggett and Chev Warner proved to be in vain for Wolvercote as visitors Star Wanderers notched their first win of the season with a 4-2 success.
In Division 1, Cold Arbour Res, strengthened by a handful of first-teamers, proved too strong for Northway in a 7-2 victory.
They took the lead through Aaran Williams's header, then Wayne Desmond added a second.
Northway missed a penalty, before James Crook extended Arbour's lead, as he slotted home home in a goalmouth scramble.
Northway pulled one back when Ryan Coles headed home, but, in another melee in the box, Barry Gray tapped in just before the break.
Williams completed his brace early in the second half, and although Craig Gilboy reduced the arrears, Arbour hit back with the best two goals of the game, Jason Hounslow rifling home from 25 yards and a David Jennings lob completing the victory.
Saxon Warriors ran out 3-0 winners over Cowley Rovers, thanks to a double in the first half from Carl Howard, which took his tally to nine for the season.
Kieran Ellis added a third from the penalty spot.
Oxford Yellows got the better of visitors Berinsfield with a 2-0 victory.
Their goals came from Damien Perks and Rocky Whiting.

Matthew Townsend grabbed a brace, with Chris Beechey and Ben Davies notching their others.
James Oliver replied with a double for Watlington, with Keith Griffith and Simon Rust securing a point.
