The damp pitches seemed to suit the bowlers in the lower divisions.

There were several six-wicket hauls, led by Horley 2nd’s Richard Hart in Division 9.

He claimed 6-13 as Dinton 3rd were dismissed for 96, Horley getting home by five wickets.

Another match-winner was Tiddington 3rd’s Calvin Evans, who sent Stoken-church 2nd tumbling to 83 all out with a spell of 6-26 when they batted first. Tiddington cruised home at 84-3 for a seven-wicket triumph.

Hanborough 2nd’s Jack Buckingham stole the show with 6-18 against Cumnor 3rd, who were despatched for 83 in reply to 213-5 in Division 7.

Veteran all-rounder Ron Lovick starred for the winners with 92 and 3-13.

Great Brickhill 2nd’s Julian Blackwell was another to discover the joy of six with figures of 6-30 against Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 2nd in Division 6.

His spell set up an 83-run victory as Nondies were bowled out for 107 in reply to Brickhill’s 190-3.

Two other six-wicket haul were recorded, Chris Coates taking 6-44 for Buckingham Town 3rd and Paul Sly returning 6-64 for Twyford 2nd.

Two batsmen managed to reach three figures. Rob Hawkins hit 108 for Bledlow Ridge 2nd against Buckingham 3rd, while Tim Taylor was unbeaten on 105 for Cublington 2nd in the draw against Kingston Bagpuize 2nd in Division 8.
